Robert T. Sawyer
President & CEO

Bob Sawyer is the Founder, President and CEO of AVeT Inc., American Veteran Technologies, headquartered in Columbia, Maryland.

Mr. Sawyer founded AVeT, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned business, to support U.S. Federal Government and state and local government agencies. Bringing with him the leadership experience of more than thirty years as an international business executive, Bob’s expertise covers acquisitions, consolidations, divestitures and start-up businesses. He has broad experience that includes product development and management, marketing, customer sales and service as well as general management. His vertical expertise includes the Information Systems, Automotive, and Healthcare industries.

The Sawyer family lived in Geneva, Switzerland while Mr. Sawyer conducted business throughout Europe. He has worked in China, Japan and Russia successfully advancing defined business objectives in challenging government and commercial environments.

In founding and building AVeT, Inc., Mr. Sawyer assembled an excellent senior leadership team and a seasoned cadre of business and IT professionals to assure success in meeting customer objectives.

Bob served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. His service in the areas of field artillery operations and intelligence included a tour in Vietnam from July, 1968 to July, 1969.


Joseph F. Freburger, IV
Vice-President, Business Development

Joe Freburger holds responsibility for all business development, sales, marketing, and alliance activities for AVeT, Inc. He brings more than thirty years of proven experience and success to the company, having served in executive management roles for leading companies such as United Telecom, Martin Marietta, Lockheed Martin, ACS, and Hewlett-Packard.

Mr. Freburger has sold and delivered to numerous government and commercial customers, thereby becoming a recognized leader in the IT services industry. He uses a consultative, relationship-building approach to identify customer needs and building best-practice solutions.

Throughout his career, in both individual contributor and executive management roles, Joe has been responsible for the development and profitable delivery of more than $2.5B in IT services.

In addition to his role with AVeT, Inc., Joe is a Founding Partner of CJ2 Consulting, Inc.


Craig T. Halsey
Vice-President, Business Operations

Craig Halsey manages finance, accounting, contracts, subcontracts, and procurement operations at AVeT, Inc. With more than twenty-five years serving both the government and commercial markets, Craig’s background includes executive management responsibilities in finance, business operations, sales, marketing, and general management.

Mr. Halsey enjoyed a successful career with leading companies such as Martin Marietta, Lockheed Martin, and Hewlett-Packard. During his tenure with these organizations, he played a leading role in numerous ground-breaking initiatives, being recognized within industry for his accomplishments.  Additionally, he is fluent in Spanish. 

In 2006, Craig became one of the founding partners of CJ2 Consulting, Inc., a leading consultancy firm. He authors an amusing and informative retrospective of his lessons learned in business entitled, “They Said It”.
